Novel Metrics
In architecture, the creative process of designing indoor and outdoor spaces involves several models of materials and shapes in a complex manner. Computational design approaches facilitate the definition of parameters of these models and the relationships between them. As a result, design decisions can be effectively iterated by modifying these parameters and their interrelations during the early stages of design. This project concentrates on incorporating acoustic constraints into the architectural design process through rule-based computation. This method aims to provide a unified data structure that integrates both acoustic and architectural parameters, including fabrication parameters, within a single workflow. Thanks to this data structure, specific domain knowledge can be transferred from the acoustic design space to the architectural design space.
